Stimulants & Focus
CDP-Choline (Citicoline)
Also known as: Citicoline · Cytidine diphosphate choline
Provides both choline (for acetylcholine) and cytidine (converted to uridine, a dopamine modulator). More cognitively broad than Alpha-GPC alone.

What Is CDP-Choline (Citicoline)?
CDP-choline is a naturally occurring intermediate in phosphatidylcholine synthesis. Unlike Alpha-GPC, which primarily raises acetylcholine, CDP-choline also releases cytidine, which is converted to uridine — a modulator of dopaminergic signalling. This dual mechanism gives it a broader nootropic profile and potential motivational benefits.
How It Works: The Science
CDP-choline is hydrolysed in the gut to choline and cytidine. Choline crosses the BBB and is acetylated to ACh. Cytidine is converted to uridine in the brain, which modulates phosphatidylcholine synthesis, supports synaptic membrane integrity, and upregulates dopamine D2 receptor expression and dopamine synthesis.

Dosage Guide
Effective Dose
250–500mg / day
250–500mg/day. Can be split into two doses. Often preferred over Alpha-GPC for pure cognitive/nootropic use; Alpha-GPC preferred for acute physical power output.
Safety Profile & Side Effects
Well tolerated. Rarely causes insomnia if taken late in the day. Headache at high doses. Generally very safe with long clinical use history.
Who Should (and Shouldn't) Take It
Cognitive athletes, students, professionals needing sustained focus, and those with sub-optimal dietary choline intake. Pairs well with racetams (synergistic).
